It's well known that the good old ".nomedia" file trick, that allowed a folder NOT to be scanned by Media Scanner, doesn't work anymore since Android 4.0.
There are many bug reports, such as this one : id=24162 on google code (i can't post link here because new on the forum).
It's really a big problem for many people, such as me : I have more than 50GB of data (mp3, etc.) on a SD card, and so the media scanner constantly tries to scan everything, leading to overheat, overusage of CPU, and fast battery drain :(
I've looked everywhere and haven't found a solution.
Of course disabling the app "Media storage" solves the problem, but then each time you take a photo, you don't see it anymore in the gallery :( + many other built-in apps don't work anymore... A shame...
QUESTION : is there a Custom ROM that solves this problem ? Cyanogenmod for example?
I'm running a Galaxy Core Plus (SM-G350) with Android 4.2.2 rooted.
