Allwinner A33 Android DVR Car Rear Mirror - Adjusting partitions

First of all this is the exact unit:

It's sold across various sites by various "manufacturers" some bother to customize the boot logo, some don't, but they all essentially run the same firmware.
I've taken the liberty of uploading the firmware, you'll find the link at the bottom of this post, for those of you that have one or want to have a tinker to help out.

Now, it's not exactly cutting edge but it does a fair job of being an android-y mirror, my only real gripe about it is that the default launcher is forced to start on boot, even if you set another launcher as default, if you root the firmware (using kingroot 4.5 works, as does using the latest supersume to remove kingroot and install supersu) and use a tool to remove MDLauncher_N2, the unit will bootloop at the android animation, regardless of if there is another launcher installed or not.

The biggest issue I have however is that on a fresh flash you literally have less than 150mb to install anything beyond the stock apps, and entering your details to open the play store results in the default play apps updating and eating up a healthy chunk of that data, resulting in "insufficient space" issues when attempting to install anything substantial such as Waze or google maps.

the unit itself has 16gb of internal storage thats partitioned stupidly, giving the system less than 1gb for the actual OS and system files, the problem here being obvious.
I haven't been tinkering with allwinner android roms for very long but i know for a fact that using any version of dragonface to customize this rom, breaks it and the firmware flasher on the unit doesnt respect to the created rom after burning to sd card, instead i'm using the contents of imgRePacker_205.zip to extract the firmware image and tinker with files, as the repacked images from this tool actually flash back to the unit.

So what i'd like to ask of anyone bored enough to have a stab at it, would be, :

1) How can we modify this rom to assign more of the internal storage to the system partition (eg, instead of 800mb / 15,000mb, a nice even split of say 7.5gb each), the unit doesn't need an insane amount of storage, but enough to install a basic suite of apps would be extremely welcome.

2) How do we prevent the MDLauncher_N2 launcher from starting instantly at system boot

Also if you're just randomly searching around because you bricked your unit and the seller is playing the "send it back to us and we'll fix it" card, just flash the below linked rom to an SD card using phoenixcard in "product" mode, insert it into the device and plug in a usb cable connected to a charger, it'll reflash itself for you.

Any and all help muchly appreciated!
