AVRCP issues on Marshmallow

I've never had this issue before, at least never while running Lollipop. My Bluetooth audio connection to my VW head unit works fine, but AVRCP (remote control and metadata) is sporadic at best. It worked beautifully before on Lollipop regardless of which app I was using. Now it rarely works if ever.

I'm currently on XtreStoLite 3.2.
