Honor 7X will be an Amazon Exclusive in India, Registrations Now Open

The Honor 7X was launched in October in China as the successor to the Honor 6X. The smartphone was confirmed by the Global President of Honor to be launched in India in the month of December as the brand targeted the top spot in the Indian smartphone market. The company has also promised that the device will be priced at an 'unbeatable price' such that it will have no competitors. Mr. George Zhao confirmed that the phone will be available both via online and offline channels.

Now, the Honor 7X has been listed on Amazon India, where the online retailer has stated that the device will be an Amazon exclusive. As we already know that the phone will be available in offline retail, the probable explanation is that the phone will be an online exclusive through Amazon. Registrations for the device have now started, although many launch details haven't been provided yet.

The Amazon listing for the Honor 7X has not mentioned any details about the device's price or availability for sale. NDTV notes that the terms and conditions page for the device reveals that the registrations will close on December 27. Therefore, it is likely that it will go on sale in late December.

The Honor 7X has a 5.93″ Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, the HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC with the ARM Mali-T830MP2 GPU, 16MP primary + 2MP secondary dual rear cameras, and a 3,340mAh battery. It comes in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage configurations paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat paired with EMUI 5.1. The pricing of the device starts at CNY 1,299 (~$196) for the 32GB variant, CNY 1,699 (~$256) for the 64GB variant and CNY 1,999 (~$301) for the 128GB variant.

On first sight, the Honor 7X does seem to be a promising device which has the potential to do well in the Indian smartphone market. Its specifications are relatively competitive, but the pricing is on the higher side for the higher-end variants. Other smartphone vendors such as Xiaomi and Lenovo are also gearing up to launch successors of their popular budget smartphones in the first half of 2018. Therefore, the competition is bound to heat up in the budget and lower mid-range price brackets.
