I did some searching, and didn't find anyone talking about how to force enable resolutions or override the TV EDID.
My use case: I use kodi to watch a lot of locally ripped media, some of which is originally PAL content (and I'm in the US), so the native refresh rate is either 25hz or 50hz.
Previously, I used kodi on a linux box, and was able to force enable 25hz and 50hz in the video card settings to allow kodi to switch the TV to 25hz/50hz native when displaying 25hz/50hz content.
On the Shield TV, kodi works fine, and is even able to auto-switch refresh rate to 24/60hz as needed when I play 24hz or 60hz content, but my TV only lists US resolutions as supported in its EDID info, so the shield doesn't seem to let kodi swtich to 25/50hz. This is very annoying when watching 25/50hz content, as it looks juddery and jerky.
Is there a way to override the detected resolutions, or force-enable resolutions on the Shield TV?
I have oem unlocked and rooted the device in prep for anything I may need to do to enable these refresh rates.
